Use Structure
B01: Structural design phase
Based on the results of the analyses, a task oriented structure for the future user interface can be developed. Here, ZMMI employs an abstract use model, which represents the operations of future systems and is, to a large extent, independent of the system hardware. This use model provides the foundation for the later design phase.
The functional structure for the device software begins to take shape in the use model as more and more details from the abstract, task oriented standpoint of the user are entered. The basic operational control context is defined by the tasks identified in the use analysis and the specified conditions.
The result of the structural design phase is a platform or, hardware independent model, that can be transferred onto various user interfaces (for example, mobile phone, laptop, etc. as another system in addition to operation on the primary end device). The modeling language useML is used in structural design where a database is also created that can be used in later phases.
