GMA focus project: Ambient intelligence in automation engineering

Purpose

Ambient intelligence in automation engineering is a focus project of the Society for Measurement and Automation (GMA) and has the primary aim of studying the impact of the newest network technologies on automation engineering. The research focuses both on the future requirements in automation engineering as well as on major new developments in the field of ambient intelligent technologies and applications.

The primary focus on the ambient intelligent technologies for use in the industrial sector is justified by the fact that until now, no applications or model facilities have existed. In contrast, the “intelligent home” has already been the subject of several AI research studies.
