Evaluation and usability

D01: Simultaneous project evaluation

Simultaneous project evaluation enables the user to track and assess the development progress at all times on the basis of structures or prototypes. In this way, a timely response to desired changes or modifications is possible. Otherwise, such changes could only be realized in a costly and time consuming reworking effort.

The evaluation includes user surveys to determine the validity of the results and structures obtained up to this point. This is essential for the structural design and design phases. Individual expenses are discussed with he client.

E01: Expert evaluation

The expert evaluation encompasses a consultation regarding the development of a user interface by the client. It is normally performed under the framework of one or more workshops. The consultation follows general ergonomic design guidance and is based on the broad experience resident at ZMMI in the design of user interfaces. This service usually requires 2-3 days and can be performed on short notice following execution of a contract and coordination of dates.

E02: Usability test

The usability test monitors, for example, by video monitoring, screen capture, the potential system users in the performance of typical processing tasks. These observations permit the identification of problems in the area of dialog design and information presentation. Potential users are selected in advance to serve as test subjects.  They can be tested at the ZMMI Usability Lab, or also at their work places.

ZMMI has a mobile observation technology that can be used to document the usability tests. Upon conclusion, a test report is issued that discusses weaknesses revealed by the tests and identifies possible solutions.
